Obituary

Windom Darius Barnett, age 90, of Tonasket died August 10, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in Tonasket, Washington. He was born October 2, 1920 to Herbert and Edith (Cheetham) Barnett in Conconully, Washington. Windom attended Conconully Grade School for 8 years and then graduated from Riverside High School in 1938. In '39 Windom moved to Peshastin, Washington and worked at Peshastin Lumber and Box Co. In 1941, he married the love of his life, Miriam Louise Gere. After working for Weyerhauser in Snoqualmie for a year, he then worked for the Forest Service for 2 years, was a meat cutter for 25 years and an owner/operator of the Wenatchee Public Market. He worked for the Chelan Co. Courthouse for 10 years and retired to his childhood home in Conconully. Windom was a member of AARP, the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church, and the Conconully Methodist Church.

SURVIVING RELATIVES

Children: Herb (Evey) of Wenatchee, Sharon (Ken) of Wenatchee, Daniel (Phyllis)of Wenatchee, Leland (Jeanie) of Tonasket, Timothy (Alicia) of Wenatchee and David (Anne) of Wenatchee

Numerous nieces and nephews

12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild

Preceded in death by his mother, father, 6 siblings and wife Miriam

SERVICES

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Conconully Cemetery with Pastor Floyd Schwanz officiating.
