Wayne Douglas Miller, 66, of Republic, WA passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, early on the evening of November 20, 2025. Those that were fortunate enough to know Wayne, knew him as a wonderful human being.  Thoughtful, generous, humorous, empathetic and sympathetic reflected his wonderful character.  Well read, intellectual, observant, keen mind, wicked sarcasm were often used to describe Wayne.  Wayne loved a good book, a fine meal and a great bottle of wine as well. Wayne was born February 22nd in Utica, New York, the son of Burton and Anne Miller (nee Rosalie).  He graduated from Fremont High School in 1977.  In his youth, every free moment saw Wayne climbing in Yosemite.    Most of Wayne's professional energies went to cooking in restaurants, where he was appreciated for his humor, intelligence and culinary skills. Wayne met Grace Marie Christophersen (Masha) in June of 1990 in Santa Cruz.  They spent the better part of 25 years in Seattle working at Angelo's of Bellevue before moving to Republic in 2018.  They were married on December 20, 2019. Wayne and Masha loved the outdoors including camping, fishing and hunting for mushrooms.  They had no children but raised many beloved pets over the years. Remaining to cherish Wayne's memory are Masha, his sister Brenda, brother Eric and family and friends too numerous to count.  Preceding Wayne in death are his parents, Burt and Anne and his older brother Jeff.
