Verlin Joe Hicks age 71 of Oroville died on January 12, 2019 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was born November 7, 1947 in Elkland, Missouri to parents Jim and Josephine Hicks. Verlin moved to Oroville at the age of 11. He attended the Oroville Schools and graduated from Oroville High School. He then entered the US Army and served form 1969 – 1971. Verlin worked and retired from the Oroville-Tonasket Irrigation District. He loved to hunt, fish and hike the mountains looking for wildlife. He spoke often of his friends and family. He was a member of the Oroville Eagles and the Oroville American Legion.
Verlin is survived by his wife Deborah A. Hicks, children Shannon & Angela Hicks, Bobby Cordle and Cathy Davis, siblings Darlene Prince, Marlene Blackburn and James Guss Hicks, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jim & Josephine Hicks and an infant son.
A simple graveside service and memorial will be posted in March for an early April Service.
