Todd
Sackman
September 8, 1964 – August 13, 2025
Joseph "Todd" Sackman was born September 8,1964 to Roland "Buck" Sackman and Anne (Newman) Sackman in Wenatchee, Washington. Todd grew up ranching and farming with his family where he developed his love of the outdoors and honed his independent nature. He attended school in Tonasket until moving with father to Canada where they started a ranch near Williams Lake. Todd ultimately returned to live in Omak/Tonasket area.
Todd worked as a log truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He loved his job - largely because it allowed him to spend time outdoors. He enjoyed exploring new places, hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. In 2018, Todd started his own trucking business and eventually expanded it to include building and clearing logging roads. When not working, you could frequently find Todd working in his shop, sharing a Pendleton or two with his buddies or taking some down time while watching John Wayne movies.
Todd loved his family and his close friends. He met his wife-to-be, Mikey, at a country music festival in Winthrop in 2000. They have been partners ever since making their home in Omak. On August 3, 2012, they were officially married at the home of his sister, Wendy and Mike Foth, in Omak. They moved to Lewistown, Montana where Todd worked in the Bakken Oilfields. They returned to the area in 2017/2018, and found the perfect, out of the way place for their home in Pine Creek (Tonasket) adjacent to wonderful friends and close to family.
Mikey and Todd enjoyed 25 years together, sharing many adventures and time with friends and family. Todd was especially happy to spend time with his son, Joe. They were close friends as much as they were father and son. They shared many things together, including the same birthdate, which often created some confusion and humorous situations. Todd was over the moon when he discovered he was going to be a grandfather. He welcomed his grandson, Jace, in January 2025.
Todd was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in November 2024 and spent the last 10 months of his life battling this terrible disease. In true Todd fashion, he chose quality of life over quantity and managed to hunt, fish, play, and raise a few cattle. Unfortunately, he left all of us far too soon following an accident at his home on August 13, 2025. His absence has left a noticeable void, and he will be profoundly missed by those that knew and loved him.
Todd is survived by his wife Mikey; his son Joe (Sheryl); his grandson Jace; sister Wendy and her children Tyler and Kellie; brother-in-law Michael Foth; mother Anne; father Roland "Buck" (Sue); his sister-in-law Jeanie and children Mike, Holly, Kristie, Jensen, and Jordan; stepdaughter Marisa (Jay) and step-grandsons, Brody and Sawyer, step-daughter Nikki (Shelley); honorary son Colton Whittle; and Todd's constant companion, his dog, Jake. Todd was preceded in death by his older brother, Jeff.
Todd's Celebration of Life will be held at the Tonasket Eagles Saturday, August 30, at 1:00 PM. Preceding the service will be a truck parade on Main Street in Tonasket.
In lieu of flowers, Mikey would like you to please send flowers to someone you love and take time to hug and appreciate those you care about.
