Richard Steven Roe, age 52, died on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at his home in Tonasket with his family by his side. He was born on March 18, 1959 in Renton to parents Richard and Sharon Roe. Steve grew up mainly in Okanogan County. In 1980, he entered the U.S. Army. He served for a brief time in Germany. Following an honorable discharge from the service, Steve remained a patriot. He was proud for the opportunity to have served his country. Upon discharge he moved to Wenatchee and later to Seattle where he devoted 10 years of employment at the Veterans Hospital. In his heart, Tonasket always felt like home. He returned to live in Tonasket approximately 10 years ago. He went to work in the orchards, then doing security and construction at a local vacation resort, with his last job being a fork lift operator. Steve spent many hours in the nearby mountains, where he loved to camp and fish. He also enjoyed his time at the Tonasket Eagles and Tonasket American Legion playing cards and games of pool

Steve was preceded in death by his father; Richard (Dick) Roe and Brother, Ken Roe
Military graveside services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 2:00 PM at the Tonasket Cemetery with the Tonasket American Legion, officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
