Simon Carl
Stotts
May 29, 1979 – October 31, 2023
"The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light."
ROMANS 13:12
Simon Carl Stotts of Curlew, Washington tragically passed away on the morning of October 31, 2023.
Simon was born on May 29, 1979 to John and Leslie Stotts. Simon left behind one incredible son Sylas, two beloved stepsons, Justin and Conner, his parents John and Leslie, brothers Joe, Ted, their families and numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Simon lived passionately with a spirit that could often lighten any vibe. He grew up in Curlew, Washington, where he attended Curlew Elementary and High School. He played baseball, a passion that he passed on to his son Sylas and others in the community by coaching and running the local Little League program. He was an eager collector of baseball cards. He boasted a collection that many would envy. He also hunted and collected crystals.
Simon was an avid wakeboarder and quite skilled. He spent many years throwing backflips and riding off the trestle on Curlew Lake.
He taught numerous friends and family how to get up on a wakeboard for their first time.
His father John taught him how to run equipment, and Simon became an equipment operator by trade. Simon built many rock walls in the community with his impeccable eye for their design. His mother Leslie introduced Simon to Jesus by demonstrating her unwavering faith even through the darkest of times.
While Simon had a positive impact on many lives, he was also an addict. For ample years Simon lived a life that spread joy and light to others. Unfortunately, he spent many dark days fighting addiction which ultimately took his life. Simon's family would like his death not to be in vain, but to educate others on the struggles of addiction. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, please contact the SAMHSA National Helpline 1-800-662-4357 or locally NEW Alliance (509)-775-3341. Memorials can be made at the WaFd Bank, Republic Branch, to the account in Simon's name for drug awareness.
