Ruth
Woehl
November 5, 1939 – August 21, 2019
Ruth Woehl, 79, of Bonney Lake, and later, Tonasket, Washington, went Home to her Lord and Savior on August 21st, 2019, as her children Chuck, Cindy and daughter-in-law Kandice held her hands.
She was born in 1939, in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of late Walter and Iva Johnson. She was the oldest of 4 siblings, and is survived by her sister, Laurel (Paul) Schultes of South Dakota. On June 4, 1961, she married Ed Woehl of South Dakota, and they had three children; Tami, Cindy and Chuck.
Ruth went to college in Bozeman and later Billings, where she earned a Medical Secretary degree. She enjoyed drama in addition to her serious studies. She raised 3 children and later, along with her husband Ed, managed the Jorgenson's Holiday Inn Motel in Helena, Montana. She was the bookkeeper of the businesses. She went on to work alongside Ed, building a handful of spec houses in the Helena area. Ruth helped in the day to day running of their Construction Company and also the Laundromat that they later owned.
Ruth's moto was "treat others as you'd like to be treated", and she did just that. She was a person of deep integrity, and was humble to her core. She was very active in her Church in Bonney Lake, and cared deeply for her fellow parishioners. She enjoyed trips to the Ocean with her daughter and family, and many trips to visit family in Montana. Later she enjoyed God's creation, playing cards, and quiet time all from the front porch of her son and daughter-in-law's cabin.
Ruth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Kandice Woehl of Washington, and her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Kevin Summerfield, also of Washington. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Zachary, Sean, Tiffany, and Taylor, her Great Grandchild Ivy and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, daughter, Tami, as well as by her brothers, Steve and Keith.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at the Finn Hall in Buckley, Washington, Saturday, October 26th, at 11:00 a.m. The Finn Hall address is: 10411 234th Ave. E., Buckley, WA 98321.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Ruth's name to a Senior Center, local Church, Humane Society, or Cancer Research. Thank you.
We love you, Mom, and will miss your smile, hugs, kind ways, and your mischievous grin!!!
