Obituary

Robert Bradford Scriver passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 15, 2021. He was born in Omak, Washington to Edward Scriver and Sue (Perkins) Scriver on June 18, 1962. Rob was raised in Republic, Washington where he attended Republic elementary and high schools, graduating in 1980. In high school he excelled in wrestling and rodeo. He competed in bull and saddle bronc, riding throughout his teenage years until getting a severe fracture coming off a bull. He then began fighting the bulls rather than riding, and paid his way through college at S.C.C. to earn his degree in Diesel Mechanics. In 1983 Robert married Sharmie Vodder. They had two children, Levi Scriver in 1985 and Jesse Scriver in 1991. They tragically lost Sharmie in 2000. Rob applied his knowledge and training to a myriad of jobs, working in our local gold mines for many years. He was competent in a wide range of skills including as a welder, equipment operator, fabricator and predominately heavy equipment mechanic. Rob was particularly known for his exceptional work ethic and was well respected by his colleagues. Scriver married Janeen (Stanton) in 2021 and shortly thereafter became parents to their daughter, Joree Scriver. A Colville Confederated Tribal member, Rob was proud of his heritage as a Native American and was traditional in his beliefs. Robert Scriver is survived by his wife, Janeen Scriver; his children Levi Scriver, Jesse Scriver, Joree Scriver, Nicole West and six grandchildren; sisters Debbie Sue Neal (John), Tammie Scriver (Doug) and Peggy Scriver; cousins Tim Scriver (Kelly), Sheila Oxley (Dano), Glen Derickson and John Derickson. He will be terribly missed by his family, friends and the Republic and Curlew communities. Celebration of Life will be an informal event at the home of Rob and Janeen (14 Kroupa Rd, Curlew) on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow.
