Robert Lee Crawford, age 74, resident of Oroville, WA passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on September 14, 2026. He is survived by his wife Gail and his four children: Paula Rodriquez, Rob Crawford, Patrick Crawford and Shayne Crawford; eight grandchildren: Antonio Rodriguez, Sarah Brooks, Stephanie Crawford, Christopher Crawford, Jesse Crawford, Isaiah Hawkins, Kayden Crawford, & Emily Crawford; five great-grandchildren: Malachi & Ava Crawford, Ezekiel, Emma, & Alex Afaro; great-great grandson Antonio Lee Afaro Rodriquez; three brothers: Max, Richard, & James Bennett; two sisters: Sharon Bently & Regena Johnson. He was preceded in death by: parents Cora Bennett and Robert Crawford, brothers Gary & John Crawford, sisters Coraleen Baas & Gaynetta Bennett and grandson Jose Rodriguez.
Robert was born on November 10, 1951 in Sandusky Ohio. He resided for 12 years at the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphans Home in Zenia, Ohio. Robert served in the U.S. Army 2nd Armored Division as a chemical staff tech teaching other soldiers how to survive chemical attacks. He spent his adult life as a construction inspector on many highways, bridges and dams. He spent his last 11 years working for City of Lakewood before retiring in 2013 due to serious health issues.
Robert was always a jokester and never took life too seriously. The one thing he was serious about was his love for babies. He believed life was too short to worry about the little things and was always ready with a joke or a smile. He enjoyed fishing & camping but most of all he loved going shopping at Goodwill. After becoming a foster parent with his wife in 2007 he became a strong advocate for foster adopt. Robert will be sorely missed by all.
A funeral service will be held Saturday September 26, 2026 at 11:00AM at Valley Christian Fellowship in Oroville with Pastor Randy McAllister officiating. Services will conclude with graveside military honors at the Oroville Riverview Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following the services at the Crawford residence.
