Paula was born to Louie and Matilda Meyer on September 8, 1925, in Buhl, Idaho and died peacefully on April 25, 2026, in MJ's adult family home in Republic, Washington.

She lived with her parents and six brothers and sisters on the Clover Tract, a Lutheran community, until she married Harold Lutz in 1943. They moved to Jerome, Idaho where they worked on the family farm until they moved to Quincy, Washington in 1955. They farmed in the Quincy area until 1963 when they sold out and purchased the Damon Fields ranch at Republic. They sold the ranch in 1972.

Paula was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Republic where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She loved to garden and can and preserve food for the family and was a great cook. The family and others enjoyed her pies, Huckleberry bars and many other delicious treats. She always had cookies for the grandchildren. She also loved making and gifting her beautiful quilts to all her family. Paula worked for several years as a nurse's aide at the hospital.

Paula and Harold enjoyed square dancing and riding their favorite horses Chico and Rosa. They traveled the United States and Canada during their retirement.

Life brought profound loss with the passing of Harold in 2012 as they were inseparable during their 69 years together. Paula was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters; Edwin, Esther, Beulah, Erwin, Martin and Lula.

Paula is survived by her four children; Ron (Sharon) of Sandpoint, Gary (Georgia, deceased) of Aberdeen, Rick (Gigi) of Republic, and Jan (Glen) of Loon Lake. She has 10 grandsons and daughters, many great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.

We are grateful to MJ's Adult family Home and Spokane Hospice for the excellent support and loving care Paula received during the last ten months of her life.

Memorials can be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in Republic. A memorial service will be held May 9th 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Republic.
