Paul
Vickers
March 8, 1958 – April 11, 2021
Paul Joseph Vickers passed away on April 11, 2021. He was the 3rd child born of William and Anna Vickers, born in Oakland, California on March 8, 1958.
Paul's family moved around a lot due to his father being in the service, but they settled in Iowa Park, Texas, and he graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1976. He loved working on cattle ranches and he also competed in numerous rodeo events including bull riding, saddle bronc riding and, his favorite event, the Wild Horse Racing.
Paul met the love of his life, Teena, in July of 1980, and they were married 4 months later on November 22. They lived in Texas after they got married and Paul worked in the trucking and oil field industry. They eventually set down their roots in Tonasket, Washington in 1989. Paul worked in the logging and construction industry for L&M construction, Morrell Asphalt and numerous other companies. In 2000 he started his own trucking company hauling rodeo livestock to rodeos in the 12 western states, and logging and hauling hay. In 2014 he started working for the Okanogan County Landfill and worked there until his heart condition caused his retirement in November of 2020.
Paul was involved in the Tonasket Comancheros, the Eagles, and the Omak Stampede Suicide rescue. Paul had a passion for helping kids in any way he could and would take them under his wing to help them grow to their full potential.
Paul is survived by his wife of 40 years Teena, son Lucas (Megan) Vickers of Tonasket, WA, daughter Brandie (Cody) Blue of Soap Lake, WA, mother Ann Vickers, siblings Shannon Bakos, Billy Vickers and Penny Vickers of Texas. He loved his grandchildren Cordell and Wade Vickers, and Melonie, Brady and Cassidy Blue. Paul was preceded in death by his father William Vickers, brother Mark Vickers, nephew Shawn Einhause and Father-in-law Charles (PeeWee) Jones.
