Patricia Foster was born into this world on September 16th, 1933 into modest Irish family, in Stamford Connecticut as Patricia Agnes Wilson. In 1951 she married John 'King' Fanning a WWII Navy veteran. In September of that same year her first son, John Lawrence Fanning was born. Three months later her husband perished in a fiery truck wreck.
In 1954 Patricia met Dewey Foster, another US Navy veteran and later that year they married in Clarendon Texas. Her next son, Richard Arnold Foster was born in Sacramento California in 1956. Patricia gave birth to her third son Douglas Allen Foster in Clarendon Texas in 1961. Patricia's growing family increased in size once again in 1963 when Brion Leslie Foster, her fourth son, was born in Stamford Connecticut.
Patricia and her family first moved from the Texas Panhandle to the Quinault Rainforest of Washington State in 1969. 1976 found the family, with the exception of the oldest son John, moving back to northern Texas, where her daughter Angela Marie Foster was born that same year. 1982 was another big move year for Patricia and her family, after a Christmas visit with her son John, now living in northwestern Ferry County, the family picked up stakes and moved to Republic, Washington, which was to become her home for the next 35 years.
Locally Pat Foster is known for her magical Christmas holiday home, as well as the annual 4th of July party her family holds in memory of Dewey Foster, and her special gift to all – unconditional love. No matter your beliefs, color, orientation, religion, or creed, she welcomed one and all into her home. A true Irish, gentlewoman, who relished in her big family, the telling of the stories of her life, and listening to the stories of the lives around her.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love in her three surviving sons, four daughter-in laws, her 10 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren and an uncountable group of friends.
