Patricia Ann
Arbuckle
July 5, 1933 – April 1, 2026
Patricia Ann Arbuckle (Patti) age 92 of Tonasket WA passed away peacefully in her home on April 1, 2026. She was born in Fresno, CA on July 5, 1933 to Gladys and Bert William Buckland. She grew up in San Diego CA spending most of her younger years involved in music and Little Theater. She was an honor thespian and won a scholarship to the Pasadena Playhouse.
In the late 70's she moved to the Okanogan with her husband Jack Arbuckle and became a "back to the lander". She was the "office lady" at Regal Fruit until its closure.
Known for her wit and fiery personality she was a lover of reading and a prolific writer. Never one to slow down, she took up watercolor painting in her late 60's.
Among her papers I found something she wrote dated March 10,1977 entitled "Profile of Patti - For Future Reference" (the list was long but here is some of it). My favorite things: dried eucalyptus leaves, white shoulders perfume, a clean house, fresh sheets, lying in the grass, daisies, music, reading, chocolate ice cream, laughing and working, smoking after sex, my hair, standing straight and being a woman. Some unfavorites: not having bigger calves, cold feet, cleaning the oven, bad vibes and frilly clothes.
Patti was preceded in death by her husband Jack, a baby daughter, and her son Bruce William Carey. She is survived by her daughter Lauralee Carey of Tonasket, her son Brett (Lisa) Carey of St. Paul MN, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank Enhabit Home Health and Hospice and her friends here in Tonasket for making this last year of her life truly enriching and full of love.
You can bet wherever Patti is she will be taking names and kicking ass...Love you mom
