Monte Ray Hilderbrandt age 43 of Malo passed away on November 28, 2016 at his home. He was born November 7, 1973 in Grand Forks, BC to parents Dennis and Vicki (Clough) Hilderbrandt. Monte attended Republic Grade School until the 3rd grade when the family moved to Colville. He then attended the Colville schools, graduating from Colville High School in 1992. From there he attended WSU for 2 years before coming back to Colville and working for Raider Boats. He then began a career in mining working for Hecla Mining in Republic and then worked for Barrack mining in Elko, Nevada. Monte moved back to home and worked at K2 and the Buckhorn Mines. During down times he worked as a logger in the timber industry. Monte always thought of and put his children first, they were his life. He was a pure outdoorsman and loved spending free time boating, fishing and was a avid hunter. Monte was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Surviving relatives include his mother and step father, Vicki (Mike) Melby, children Gunnar (age 15), Chase (age 13), Kate (age 10) and Ficher (age 8), brother Chad Hilderbrandt, step sister Kerri Hilderbrandt and step brother Cory Rebmann.
Monte was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Hilderbrandt.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 11:00 AM at Curlew High School with Roger Hayden, officiating.
