Michael Paul Utigard was born January 20, 1953 in Omak, Wa to Ralph and Nora Utigard. He was the eldest of 3 children. Fred and Kathy were his siblings. His dad was in the military and the family traveled extensively during their younger years. They lived in Italy and Germany as well as Kentucky and Virginia with Omak as their family base. Michael spent his teen years in Omak attending Omak High where he played football and was senior class president. One of the highlights of his life was his years spent as a smoke jumper fighting wild fires for the forest service. He had many amazing tales to tell of his experiences . Michael married his high school sweetheart Jan Featherly and they had 3 children together, Andi, Kristan and Aaron. Michael studied art at Evergreen college and was a wonderful artist, his favorite mediums were drawing, carving and woodworking. Michael loved Jesus, family and friends, was always quick to help anyone in need. In 1998 Michael married Anne Bernhard Arlotta and helped raise her 6 children. Together, they built up the family organic farm business, The King's Garden, His final years were spent in Tonasket near his precious mother, Nora. Michael is survived by his daughters Andi and Kristan and her children Owen and Violet, his son Aaron and his children, Jonny and Gabe, Sydney and Nicholas. Also his stepkids, Peter, David, Laurel and her daughter Faith, Joseph, and his son Luca, Aaron and Rachele Arlotta. Michael will be remembered by his love of God, his generosity and big heart, his animated storytelling and beautiful artworks and especially his kindness. Graveside service wil be Tuesday, June 12 at 1 pm at Tonasket Cemetery. Following will be a celebration of Michaels life at The King's Garden in Carlton, WA.
