Maxine Perkins age 85 of Tonasket died on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at her home. She was born on May 2, 1926 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to parents Tomy and Rena Drake. As a young girl, she was raised in Farmington, Arkansas on the same farm as her grandparents. Later she and her parents moved to Fayetteville where she attended school. Her happy and indomitable spirit was forged at this time through her early childhood experiences. These experiences ignited her passion for family, friends and home. This was the bedrock of her life's journey. She married Earl Perkins on Feb. 8, 1943 and after the end of World War II, they moved to Ellisforde, Washington where they began working at Larrabee Orchards. As soon as they were able, they purchased a home and planted a small orchard. Through their many years of farming, she did all the things a farmer's wife does to make a successful life for herself and her family. She will be missed greatly by all whose lives she touched. Maxine was a member of the Tonasket Community Church and the Wednesday Club.

Redmond and Adam (Tasha) Tibbs of Pasco

6 Great Grandchildren: Nathan, Arianna, Keona, Luke, Alycia and Kason

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. Perkins and

3 brothers; Arvil, Leon and Bobby

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 11:00 AM at the Tonasket Community Church with Pastor Leon Alden, officiating. Interment will follow at the Tonasket Cemetery.
