Maria H. Thompson age 78 of Oroville died on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the North Valley Hospital in Tonasket. She was born May 15, 1948 in Passau, Germany. At a young age she came to the United States with her siblings, settling in Tacoma. In 1967 she married Chuck Thompson in Tacoma. Following retirement Maria and Chuck moved to Oroville where they made their home.

Maria is survived by her husband Chuck Thompson, daughter Toni Thompson, brother Joe Pena and sister Magda Illes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2026 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Oroville with Father Steven Werner, presiding. Interment will follow at the Molson Cemetery. Following the interment service family and friends are invited back to the Church Parish Hall for a luncheon.
