Lucille M. Wheaton age 91 of Malo died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Ferry County Memorial Hospital in Republic. Lucille was born September 15, 1920 in Oral, South Dakota to parents William and Kate Graves. She moved to Curlew in 1935, living on Vulcan Mountain. Lucille attended Curlew High School and graduated in 1940. On March15, 1943 she married Bernard Wheaton in Tonasket. Lucille remained in Curlew until moving to Malo in 1995 to be near her daughter, Linda. After failing health she moved to the long term extended care at Ferry County Memorial Hospital. Lucille loved her house plants and her beautiful outdoor flowers. She always had a smile for everyone. She was a member of the Ferry County Cattlewomens Association and the Curlew History Club.

2 Daughters: Elaine (Dale) Nelson of Anchorage, Alaska
Linda (Gordy) Strandberg of Malo
Daughter in law: Carol Wheaton of Curlew
2 Sisters: Betty Marti of Colville and Shirley Ehrlich of Michigan
1 Brother: Calvin Graves of Oregon
13 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; son, George; and brothers, Ira and William Graves
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 1 PM at the Curlew Civic Hall with Mike Jager, officiating. Interment will follow at the Curlew Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Curlew Cemetery Association P.O.Box 155 Curlew, WA 99118.
