Lillian E.
Montague age 88 of Republic died on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Ferry County
Memorial Hospital in Republic.  She was
born November 30, 1924 in Republic to parents Alex and Jessie Bremner.  Lillian grew up and attended school in Republic.  In 1942, she graduated from Republic High
School as salutatorian.  She and all of
her class mates remained lifelong friends.
She attended Business College in Spokane and then returned to Republic
where she began working at the courthouse.
On November 30, 1945 she married John Montague on her family ranch by
Curlew Lake.  Together they had four
children; Connie, Ron, Tricia and Jim.
Lillian worked for many years at the court house serving as deputy
auditor and then auditor, retiring in 1987.
She was an accomplished seamstress and made formals and fine clothing
for her family.  She enjoyed knitting,
crocheting and hardanger.  Lillian was
very community minded and volunteered at the People's Pantry and the Rose and
Crown.  She was always giving or doing
something nice for others.   Lillian was
a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Republic, the ladies aide,
Colville Confederated Tribes, Democratic Central Committee, Jane Cody
Democratic Committee, Wednesday Ladies Sewing Club, the Republic Library Board
and a former member of the Country Club.

Lillian is survived by:

4 Children:  Connie Montague
of Hoquiam, Ron (Susie Nieto) Montague of Mukilteo, Tricia Nelson of Cosmopolis
and Jim (Terra) Montague of Spokane

2 Brothers:  Ralph
(Marianne) Bremner and Fred Bremner of Republic

13 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, John  in 1986; 1 Brother, Art; 1 Sister, Helen
Fritts; Son in law, Hans Nelson and an infant brother.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013  11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in
Republic with Donna Beal, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Republic Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Republic Library
or the Republic Cemetery.
