Lester Allen McPheeters was born on December 21, 1923 to James and Pearl McPheeters in Kalispell, MT.  He died on May 25, 2015 in Republic, WA with family by his side.

Les was the 10 ^th of 12 children, the seventh son of a seventh son.  A year after graduating from Kalispell High School Les was drafted and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII.  He was in Nurnberg Germany when the war ended.

In 1949 Les married Yvonne Bierer.  During the 32 years they were married they cared for more than 200 foster children.  They adopted three children. Sandy in 1954, Rebecca in 1960 and Lester in 1967.  Yvonne died in 1981.  In 1984 Les married Lila Leppell.  They were married 24 years when Lila passed away in 2009.

Les had worked as a truck driver and real estate agent, but most of his working career was spent with the Independent Order of Foresters selling life insurance.

Les was an avid bowler in his younger years.  He enjoyed gardening, card games, watching sports, spending time at the Eagles and making peanut brittle.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #68 and a member of the American Legion.

Les is survived by his children Sandy (Nathan) Shiflett of Republic, WA, Rebecca (William) McPheeters of Spirit Lake, ID and Lester "Allen" (Amy) McPheeters of Lynnwood, WA.  He has 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and 4 sisters, his wife Yvonne and wife Lila and grandson Casey Shiflett.

A memorial services is planned for Saturday, June 27 ^th 2:00 PM in Republic, WA at the Episcopal Church.
