Obituary

Lenora Lorraine (Clark) Swallom was born on, January 9, 1922 to Jasper Lafayette Clark and Freda (Dahlen) Clark in what was known to railroad people as a section house. This section house was located in the township of Couderay in Sawyer County, Wisconsin just north of the little town of Lemington where her parents moved shortly after she was born.
Lenora was the fifth child born into a family of ten children (6 boys and 4 girls). She was known as Lorraine to all her family and friends here in WA, but was lovingly called "Nora" by her Wisconsin family.
In the winter of 1943 she went to Miltonvale, Kansas to attend school. In the spring of 1944 a friend (Emogene) took her to Salina, Kansas for the weekend. They went to a Christian Servicemen's Center on Saturday night where she met her future husband, Lawrence (Larry) Swallom. They were married September 23, 1944 at the Seward Avenue Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas.
In 1945 they moved to Pogue Flat above Omak where Larry built their home.
Lenora worked as a waitress/manager of the Omak Bus depot for many years. She also worked for Doxol Propane Gas, Carpenter's Restaurant and Damskov Ford.
She was very involved with her church (both the Omak Methodist and Omak Presbyterian) where she sang in the choir and played the piano and organ until she could no longer attend. She also played and sang for many weddings and funerals and assisted with worship at the Okanogan Presbyterian church. She worked with children, too, especially directing children's choir. She was also involved with the Presbyterian Women's group and the "singing" grandmothers.
In 1985 they sold their property on Woods Road in Omak and purchased property in the Crumbacher Estates where they made their home until 2004 when Lenora moved to North Valley Extended Care in Tonasket.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, her parents, 3 brothers and all her sisters.

She is survived by her three children, 3 brothers; eleven grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015  11:00 AM at Omak Presbyterian Church.
