Leanne Niehenke Hepburn lost her fight to cancer on February 16th, 2017 at her home near Curlew, WA. She was born in Spokane on March 12, 1965 and three weeks later became the daughter of Norbert and Janelle Broemmeling Niehenke of Colton by adoption. She attended Guardian Angel-St. Boniface School and graduated from Colton High School in 1983. She followed her high school sweetheart, Frank Wayne Friddle, to Fairbanks, AK and they were married December 24, 1985. Three years later they moved back to Moscow. The marriage ended in divorce.
Leanne and the children moved to Spokane in 1999 where she met Ronald "Dino" Hepburn who was her friend and companion for many years. They operated a convenience store in Curlew for a short time and then retired to the mountain cabin that they both loved. They were married in Republic on November 22, 2014. Being grandparents to Katlynn and Mary who visited often brought special joy to their lives.
Seeking medical history for health issues prompted Leanne to search for her birth mother several years ago. Her birth mother had passed away but she found three half sisters who were anxious to be a part of her life.
