John William Lenz, age 76 passed away 6 June 2016 at home. He was born on October 19, 1939 in Glasgow, Montana. John was raised by his Aunt Pauline on the family sheep ranch near Glasgow. Later he went into meat cutting and then moved to Oroville and managed apple and pear orchards for over 30 years.
In 1974, he met Cleora Smith and they were together until 2012 when Cleo passed on. John was a very generous person, helping anyone out whenever he could. If you slid into the ditch in winter, he wouldn't pass you by; he would pull you out to get you on your way.
John is survived by children: Penny Allard (Stephen Wise), Jessica Russell (William Nicholson), Leonard Russell, Mary Smith Capote (Adan Capote), Grandchildren: Cori Thompson (Steve), Jennifer Helton (Billy), Sarah Julsonnet (Joshua), Andrew Worthen, Adriana Capote (Christopher Stembaugh), Adam Capote, Justin Thompson (Liz), Nathan Thompson, Melanie Thompson, Brayden Thompson, Julie Charles, Bryan Recek, Ashten Helton; and his sister – Sally Powell of Glasgow, Montana.

Graveside services to be held at Oroville Riverview Cemetery on 23 July, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Claude Roberts will Officiate.
