Jeanette
Strandberg
December 26, 1940 – May 2, 2023
Jeanette Strandberg, age 82, of Danville, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a long battle with COPD having been a three-time cancer survivor. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother often known simply as "Granny."
Born December 26 th , 1940 to parents Mary Marcel and William LaBounty Jr. in Headley, British Columbia, Canada. Granny had eleven brothers and sisters. She went to school in Canada and completed the tenth grade. She then went to work in a packing house at an orchard to make extra money. On December 27 th 1958 she married Oscar Bernard Strandberg of Danville, WA. She loved the ranching life where she raised three children- sons Harold Strandberg of Danville, Gordon Strandberg of Malo, and daughter Susan Rohn of Yakima.
In most recent years, granny enjoyed watching hummingbirds on her deck out her kitchen window. She took joy in simple things such as watching her son, grandson's and great grandkids work the fields in front of her house. She loved speaking to her friends on the phone, keeping up with all the latest happenings in our small community. Watching her deer and wildlife in the fields and watching eagles fly over the ranch. Seeing her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids grow up successful was her greatest joy.
Granny Jeannette is survived by her children Gordon (Linda), Susan; brothers Tom, Stan, Clifford; sisters Carol, Jane; grandchildren Nick, Lacy (Phillip), Travis (Krystal), Jenny (Waylon), Brittany (Tommy), Russell (Tarra), Mallory, Dillon; great grandchildren Bailey, Tyler, Cambrey, Brody, Jace, Lily, Blake, Sarah, Jackson, Jacob, Bella, and Baiden; numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and her beloved cat "Kit-Kat."
Preceded in death by husband Oscar, son Harold, grandson Roger, son-in-law Doug, brothers Frank, George, Alfred, Bill and sisters Mary (Sis) and Fran.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Ferry County Hospital staff, long time nurse Mari Hunter, nurse Patty, the Republic Drug Store staff, and Hospice for the special care given to granny.
Celebration of life will be Saturday, July 1 st with Graveside services at the Danville Cemetery at 11 am followed by a potluck at Jeanette's ranch.
