HELEN LOUISE GIORGI GRIMSLEY OWEN was called home by her Heavenly Father on March 13, 2015.  She was born on March 26, 1930 to Egisto and Laura Cavalletto Giorgi and baptized at St. Raphael Church in Santa Barbara, California.  Helen was an active 4-H member for 11 years where her main project was sewing.  She was a

4-H County All Star in 1947 and a Junior Leader.  A graduate of Santa Barbara High School in 1947 where she participated in orchestra, marching band and Spanish Club.  Helen went on to attend the University of California at Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara Business College.

Helen met Mark Grimsley at an USO club and was married in the Santa Barbara Mission September 17, 1955 in Santa Barbara, California.  They were blessed with four children:  Michael, Karen, Paul, and Diane (Sam).  Upon moving to Curlew, Helen became involved with the Washington State Grange, Washington Cattlewomen Association (Cowbelles), Country Club, Curlew Catholic Church and Curlew Civics Club.  In 1968, Mark passed.  Helen married Granville Warren Owen in Grand Forks, British Columbia, August 1969.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents Egisto and Laura Giorgi, brother David Giorgi and husbands, Mark Grimsley and Granville Owen.  She is survived by her children and grandchildren, sister in law Barbara Giorgi, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Rosary will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015  6:00 PM and a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015  2:00 PM both will be at the Curlew Catholic Church with Father Daniel Barnett, officiating.  Inurnment will follow at the Curlew Cemetery with a memorial/luncheon afterwards at the Curlew Civic Hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Curlew Civics Club  P.O.Box 111 Curlew, WA  99166, Hospice of Spokane P.O.Box 2215 Spokane, WA  99210 or a charity of your choice.
