Francis Leroy Bacon of Republic passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Ferry County Memorial Hospital.

Francis was born June 6, 1954 to Nellie and George Bacon in Republic.

Francis graduated from Republic High School in 1972 and then enlisted in the Navy where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.  He worked as an underground miner for 27 years until becoming disabled in 2006.

Francis was a gifted singer and played both the guitar and piano well.  He was also a highly skilled mechanic and could build anything he put his mind to.

Francis is survived by his wife Nancy Bacon of Republic; 3 children: daughters Tiki Bacon of Spokane and Brittni Bacon of Portland; son Carl Bacon of Spokane; stepsons: Joseph and Jacob Parsons of Rainier; 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Casey Bacon of Spokane, August 20, 2012.

Francis leaves behind 9 siblings: Ron Bacon; Joe (Carol) Bacon; Laura (John) Pakootas; Doris Bacon; Ed Bacon; Marie (Todd) Harris; Dan (Jana) Bacon; Barbara (Brent) Flock; and Christina (Mike) Lamb.  Nellie and George, as well as 3 siblings predeceased him: Diane, Dick and Jim Bacon.
