Obituary


Elsie C. Travis age 91 of Republic died on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Ferry County Memorial Nursing Home in Republic.  She was born November 1, 1921 in Tonasket to parents Earl and Jennie (Cook) Walden.
On July 10, 1937 she married Jack Travis in Davenport.  Except for a short time living in Arkansas they made their home in Republic. Elsie worked for many years as a cook for the Republic schools and local restaurants and in the 1950's, she volunteered for the Civil Air Patrol.  She and Jack were married for sixty-two years and together they enjoyed travelling.  Elsie loved arts and crafts, painting and flowers.  She was very active and held all posts in the Legion Auxiliary.

Elsie is survived by:
1 Daughter:  Gloria Roberts of Joplin, Missouri
2 Sons:  Greg Travis of Houston, Alaska and Ron (Lynda) Travis of Big Lake, Alaska
Numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1999; brother, Hank Walden; and sister, Edna Alm

At Elsie's request no services will be held.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, Washington 99210
