OBITUARY

Earl Theodore Crea, age 89, of Republic died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at his home. He was born June 13, 1922 in Cottonwood, Idaho, the third of six sons of William and Mary Crea.

He graduated from Cottonwood High School and enrolled in the University of Idaho (Idaho State College) where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He met his wife of nearly 60 years there and they were married on February 14, 1943. He served in the US Army from June 1944 to May of 1946 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He moved to Republic in 1952 where he commenced a lifelong commitment to the cattle industry of Ferry County and the community in general. He served as a 4-H Leader, President of the Republic School Board, and continued his membership in the Cattleman's Association and the San Poil Grange.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice, his parents, and three brothers.

He is survived by two brothers, Lewis of Cottonwood, ID and William (Bill) of Fenn, ID; his son Blaine Crea (Judy) of West Richland, WA; and daughter Mary Davis (John) of Hoquiam, WA; four grandchildren, Brian Griffiths, Conan Griffiths, Dana Camarena, and Erik Davis; and four great grandchildren

SERVICES

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Republic Catholic Church with Bill Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at the Republic Cemetery. All are invited to attend a luncheon following the service at the Republic Catholic Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Ferry County Memorial Hospital.
