Dennis "Dj"
Ward Cromwell, Jr.
August 16, 1974 – September 27, 2024
Dennis "DJ" Cromwell Jr., born on August 16, 1974, to Dennis Cromwell Sr. and Dee Harrison in Yakima, Washington, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He spent his childhood in Outlook, Republic, and Sunnyside, Washington, and is survived by his beloved mother, Dee, his wife of 21 years, Sara Cromwell, and their four cherished children: Trey, Tim, Grace, and Hope Cromwell. DJ is also survived by his brother' and wife, Tony and Christine Cromwell and their three children, Abigail Poteet, Anthony Cromwell Jr., and Allie Cromwell and his sister and her husband Dina and Jamison Armstrong and six children, Tyler Armstrong, Alyssa Armstrong, Emma Sphire, Kohlby Hopper, Jacob Armstrong and Scarlett Armstrong.
Throughout his life, DJ lived between the Yakima Valley and Republic, places that shaped his deep love for the outdoors and community. He worked for NAPA Auto Parts in both the Yakima Valley and Republic and in the parts department for the Washington Department of Transportation. His work brought him great satisfaction, as he was known for his talent in helping customers find what they needed and for his commitment to serving others.
In 2001, DJ's life changed when he met the love of his life, Sara, in Sunnyside. The two married in 2003 and together raised their four beautiful children. In 2015, DJ was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, a battle that spanned nearly 10 years. Despite the challenges, DJ remained steadfast in his faith, and in 2016, he and his family made their dream move to Republic. Surrounded by the mountains he adored, DJ found peace and joy in the beauty of nature every day.
DJ's adventurous spirit was evident in his lifelong passion for racing motorcycles and cars, including participating in 24-hour races. He was an avid hunter and a lover of firearms, finding joy in hunting trips and honing his skills in the outdoors. Whether hiking, skateboarding, or spending time at the range, DJ thrived on adventure and exploration. His zest for life was infectious, and he shared it generously with everyone around him.
Above all, DJ loved the Lord. His faith was a constant source of strength throughout his life and illness. Though he will be deeply missed, DJ leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and unwavering faith. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and will be waiting to reunite with them in heaven.
