Dennis "Denny" Sanford Busick, 71, after many hospital stays, and being put on Hospice a second time, passed away at home in Okanogan, WA on January 22, 2019. Denny was born December 30, 1947 in Torrance, CA to Ezra and Oma Busick. Denny loved riding motorcycles, camping, traveling to scenic places, being with family and friends. He wed Diane in 1971 in Torrance, CA. They moved to Lewis County, WA the following year to avoid the southern California freeway lifestyle. There in Chehalis they raised their daughter Jennifer and son Brian. After 36 years, in 2008, they moved from the Chehalis I-5 corridor in favor of the slower lifestyle of Highway 97 in Okanogan, WA.
Denny was self-employed. He was partners with his nephew Greg Gephart in the late 70's in Lewis County, WA building houses and other construction. In later years he ran his own excavating business first in Lewis County, WA them in Okanogan County, WA with his son Brian. His health forced him to retire from the equipment work he loved. He often became lasting friends to his customers.
Denny is survived by his wife Diane of 47 years, daughter Jennifer, son Brian, granddaughters Tiffany Mannikko and Kyla Busick, great-grandson Dominic Smith, 3 sisters Wanda Sandau of Parker, CO, Freda Cheek of Loyalton, CA, Shirley (Danny) Theodosis of Glenn, CA, nephew Greg Gephart, niece Robin Sandau Harmon both of Parker, CO, nephew Steve Cheek of Garden Grove, CA, niece Kim Cheek Richardson of Elk Creek, CA, Kelly Cheek Dines of Loyalton, CA, nephew Michael Theodosis of Corning, CA, niece Shari Theodosis Fleming of Glenn, CA, nieces Jerene Bonds and Carol Timmer of Highland, CA and nephew Louis Bonds of Santa Cruz, CA.
Denny was preceded in death by his father Ezra Sanford Busick, his mother Oma Pruitt Busick and his oldest sister Peggy Pickering.
Denny's cremation is being cared for by Bergh Funeral Service & Cremation of Oroville, WA. His ashes will be saved to be joined by his wife Diane's ashes when she passes away. Denny's sisters were brought by his nieces and nephews to visit him in September 2017 the first time he was on Hospice and because of the hardship of travel the family is counting that as his memorial. Many phone calls and cell texts and messages gave some closure during his last weeks. The enormous support of his family will long be cherished by his wife Diane.
