Obituary

David Arthur Bensing, 76, of Tonasket, passed away peacefully with his wife of 55 years, Linda (Meese) Bensing, by his side. David was a farmer, husband, father, fisherman, sharpshooter, carpenter, and adventurist. The two had just shared one of their favorite pastimes—a quiet trip with a lovely picnic up Toates Coulee.

He is survived by his wife; daughter Angie Christensen (Dan); son Shawn Bensing (Maricela); three grandchildren Ethan (Bridgete), Melanie (Nathan), and Isaac (Vivian); and three great‑grandchildren, Lincoln, Marcus, and Anneliese.

David taught himself countless skills, and there was no project he could not accomplish. Growing fruit in Tonasket and Loomis, commercial fishing off the shores of Alaska, remodeling homes in Coeur d'Alene and the Okanogan Valley. A mighty man with the strongest hands, he carried a quiet confidence and was the entire family’s cherished handyman. The hardest‑working man one could ever hope to meet.

David is survived by his immediate family and brother Don (Pam) Bensing. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother Cliff and Alberta (Allen) Bensing, and Sister Nancy Petersen.

Memorial services will be determined at a later date.
