OBITUARY
Darrel J. Jarvis, age 88, died February 18, 2013 in Wenatchee, WA. He was born June 8, 1924 in Republic, WA to
Barton O. and Anna F. Jarvis. Darrel
attended the Republic schools, graduating from Republic High School.
He joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1941-47, fighting during WWII as a Boat
'swain's Mate 1st Class on the USS Gillis (AVDIZ) and was stationed
in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska.
Darrel married Marjorie L. Faubert on May 27, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL
- they were together for 39 years. They
moved to Tacoma,
where Darrel worked for Boeing as a tool and dye maker. Later, they resided in Curlew, owning and
operating the Phillips 66 distributorship and the gas station/Curlew Motel.
Darrel was a former Ferry County Commissioner and a member
of the Free Masons.
