Dale Deane
Montanye
September 30, 1960 – March 9, 2023
Dale Deane Montanye, age 62, of Tonasket, Washington passed away on March 9, 2023. He had battled numerous medical conditions for over twenty+ years.
Dale was born in Brewster, Washington on September 30, 1960. He spent his childhood years on the family ranch in Aeneas Valley where Dale spent time with the family dog Whimpy, his horse Dan, fishing in the creek, and enjoying the great outdoors. He graduated from Tonasket High School in 1979 and married the love of his life, Janet Foster, on April 16th, 1983, spending 40 years together. Right after they married, Dale and Janet moved to Hawaii for 2 years and then to Washington DC for 2 years while Janet served in the US Navy. They then returned home and made their permanent home, once again, in Tonasket. A few years later, they were blessed with the birth of his pride & joy, Lacey Dale. Right after she was born, she grabbed her daddy's finger and he said, "Yep, she'll hold a fishing pole just fine". He spent the last 29 years teaching her to be strong and independent just like him. He was so very proud of her.
Dale worked many years in the logging industry running heavy equipment. He truly loved being in the woods. He always said that he felt closest to God when he would be sitting in his machine on a mountain ridge watching the sun come up.
In his free time, he was devoted to his wife and daughter. He was an avid fisherman and loved telling about the big bass he caught. His favorite hobby though was building his Rat Rods. They were his pride and joy. Everyone that saw them, would have to stop him & talk about them. He truly loved that.
Dale is preceded in death by his father, Ted Montanye. He is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Lacey, special beloved Chihuahuas Jetta & Sassy, brother Kenny (Bev), sister Frances (Dale), and mother Florence.
Dale's life will be celebrated at the Tonasket Eagles on Saturday, March 25th at 1:00 pm. The celebration will be a party as requested by Dale.
