Obituary

Cleon (Bud) Sodorff, 86 of Loomis Washington died on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at his home in Loomis.  He was born on December 16, 1925 in Seattle Washington to parents: Oscar H. Sodorff and Flavia (Patterson) Sodorff; his stepmother was Janet (Johnstone) Sodorff.  He lived in Seattle until he enlisted in the Navy in 1942. He served as a tail gunner in Guam during WW II, he was honorably discharged in 1946. Always looking for adventure he worked as a navigator on tug boat on the Seattle to Alaska run. He later got a private pilot license and flew in the Seattle area as well as in Alaska. He then started working with his dad repairing machines and making plastic bags at Sodorff and Beal, where he worked his way up to Sales Manager. When the company was sold he left to start his own vending company and worked it for over ten years. He then retired to pursue his many hobbies, he was involved in the Kenmore and the Homes Harbor gun clubs, and he was a member of the Olympic Continental trap league for over two decades. He was also successful in breeding, raised and training black labs for field trials. He was active in the Washington state wild life community. He was a lifetime member in the NRA and was an instructor in firearms safety. He was an avid hunter and never missed a fishing trip. Bud battled Parkinson disease for over thirty years and was one of only two people to do so. He managed to hunt and fish right up to his passing in January 2012.
