Obituary

Beverley Kane, 89 years, passed away in Republic, Washington. She was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who gracefully danced her way to heaven on March 3rd, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born to Marvin Alexander Watson and Eleanor Iles Watson on May 23rd, 1924, in Oakland, California. As a young woman she attended Lowell High School in San Francisco, Ca.. She later became a professional dancer, dancing with icons Sophie Tucker and the Helen Hughes dancers. She married and raised four children in Mill Valley, California: Susan Betschart of Republic, Wa., Buzz Kane of Gig Harbor, Wa., Sandy Argento of Petaluma, Ca., and Brian Kane of San Rafael, Ca., while being a real estate professional in Marin County, Ca. She later made her home in Olympia, Washington with her late husband, John Kane.

As a widow, Beverley moved to the Klondike Assisted Care/Long Term Care facility in Republic, Washington, where she made lasting and meaningful friendships with staff and residents. Her family shares in the thankfulness that Beverley had for the tender and loving care that she received while living in Republic. She felt very much at home in the community.

Beverley loved yard sales, gardening, cooking, and family trips to Puerto Vallarta Mexico where she loved a good bargain and was the queen of SkipBo. She and John enjoyed dancing the night away at Costa Vida to one of their favorites, "The girl from Ipanema". She lived her life with grace and kindness, and never failed to greet you with those "smiling eyes" and warm heart. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Beverley is survived by her four children, Susan (Dave), Buzz (Jan), Sandy (Dave) and Brian, as well as Henry (Denise) who she accepted into her heart as her own. She also held a special place in her heart for her eight grandchildren, and growing number of great grandchildren. Her surviving grandchildren in the Puget Sound Area include Shannon Noyes Eyford (Tacoma), Erin Noyes Johnson (Olympia), Mike Ertman (Vancouver, Wa), Jennifer Ertman Decker (Scottsdale, Az), and Brandon Betschart (Olympia).

A celebration of life was held at Ferry County Memorial Hospital (Resident's Activity Room) on Saturday March 8th,. Donations can be made to Ferry County Memorial Hospital.
