Ardella Marie
Fleck
June 22, 1961 – May 19, 2024
Ardella Marie Fleck passed away peacefully in her home on May 19, 2024 in Republic, Washington. She was comforted by her husband, JaDe Fleck, her sisters, her children and the rest of her family. Fighting cancer for the last year and a half, her spirit and faith in the Lord never wavered.
Ardella was born in Dickinson, North Dakota on June 22, 1961 to Wesley and Dorothy (Snider) Schuhrke. She was raised on the family farm northeast of Belfield with her three younger sisters, Kim, Sue and Donna, where they worked and played, her family becoming "suitcase farmers," wintering in town and summering on the farm. Ardella graduated from Dickinson High School, learning to play piano and singing in the choir, which she continued to enjoy all the rest of her life.
Aside from helping out on the farm, Ardella started work as a waitress at Jack's Restaurant, then later went to school and became a nurse's aide and finally a hospice provider for Northeast Health, and later for Hospice of Spokane where she stayed for 22 years. She said that working for Hospice of Spokane had been the best working years of her life. It was her wish for each and every one of her patients and their families to know that they had a special spot in her heart and she cannot wait to see them all in Heaven.
Ardella's first marriage to Charles Torres gave her three children: Jonathan, Christopher Charles and Danielle. Her second marriage was the one that made her heart and their family whole, with JaDe bringing five more beloved children with him: Travis, Eva, Christopher Austin, Daniel and Kadee. Their beautiful blended family filled an entire church pew and their hearts with happiness and purpose. Ardella and JaDe were together for 29 years.
Ardella loved growing a garden, canning food and drying herbs for medicine. Her love of music, her family and the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which she'd been a member of since 2000, was apparent to all who knew her. She was a radio board member for the Ferry County Radio Station KETL-LP since its creation. And everything she did was with a joyful song in her heart.
Ardella is survived by her husband JaDe Fleck; her parents Wesley and Dorothy (Snider) Schuhrke; her sisters and brothers-in-law Kimberly and Ted Renner, Susan Stenehjen and Donna and Garry Lagois; her children and their spouses Travis and Lacey Bear, Eva and Andy Scott, Jonathan Fleck and Rachel Linn, Christopher and Marilyn Fleck, Christopher Torres, Danielle and William Sykes, Daniel Fleck and Hailey Enholm, Kadee Fleck and Chris Sterling; all her grandchildren; and all her adopted kids, numerous nieces and nephews, grandkids and families.
Ardella loved all and was loved deeply in return. She will be greatly remembered and sorely missed.
Celebration of life will be held at the Republic Seventh-day Adventist Church at 11 a.m., May 26, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Ferry County Radio Station KETL-LP, PO Box 1177, Republic, WA 99166.
